While VQ's can withstand some pretty harsh abuse, there's no denying that oil consumption problems can happen. When this happens, it's usually from the gaskets for the valve covers that give out and allow oil and vapors to escape. This can cause a slew of issues for your VQ. So long as your valve covers are not warped, a simple gasket swap should correct your issues for years to come. If your valve covers are warped, we highly recommend replacing the valve covers AND gaskets and the same time.
